Ten Thousand Lights Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Ten Thousand Lights app and related services (the "Service") provided by Mitochondria Studio (Dohoon Lee) ("we", "us"). On the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

1. The Service

• Ten Thousand Lights is a list for recording the small things that lit you up, one numbered line at a time.
• Core features (writing, automatic backup, restore on a new device, gifts, joining shared lists, recall) are free.
• The optional paid plan, "Lights+", adds cloud photo backup and unlimited shared lists.

2. Your account

• You sign in with Apple, Google, Kakao, Naver or email.
• Keep your account secure. Don't share, sell or transfer it.

3. Your content

• You own what you write and the photos you add.
• We use your content only to provide the Service: storing it, backing it up, syncing it, and showing it to the people you choose through gifts, shared lists and "Someone's light".
• In a shared list, only the writer can edit or delete their item. Deleted items keep their number as an empty slot.
• Items you gift remain in the recipient's list once they add them.
• If you turn on "Show to others too" for an item, that line and its number are shown to other users as "Someone's light", without your name. You give us a free permission to display that line to other users inside the Service for this purpose, and for no use outside the Service.
• You can turn it off at any time and it comes down immediately. Hiding or erasing the item, or deleting your account, removes it too.
• Don't include other people's names or contact details in a line you show to others.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to:

• post content that infringes other people's rights (copyright, image rights, privacy);
• share illegal, abusive or harassing content through shared lists or gifts;
• interfere with the Service or access it without permission;
• put advertising, contact details or links, other people's personal information, or profane, hateful or sexual content in a line you show to others.

4a. Moderation of "Someone's light"

• Lines containing contact details, links or profanity are filtered automatically and are not shown to others.
• You can report someone else's line, or choose "Stop showing this person's lines". A line you report or block disappears for you immediately.
• Lines reported several times, or reported as "This person may need help", are hidden automatically. We review reports within 24 hours, remove lines that break section 4, and may stop repeat offenders from showing lines to others or suspend their accounts.

5. Lights+ purchases

• Lights+ is offered as a yearly or monthly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.
• Payment is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Prices are shown before you buy.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
• Refunds are handled under the store's refund policy.
• If your subscription ends, photos already backed up and shared lists you already created stay available.

6. Deleting your account

• You can delete all of your data at any time from Settings → Data → Delete all data. We delete it as described in our Privacy Policy.
• Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in the store.
• We may suspend accounts that break section 4, with notice where possible.

7. Changes to the Service

We may update features to improve the Service and will give advance notice of significant changes that affect you. If we ever shut the Service down, we will give at least 30 days' notice and time to export your lists.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by events beyond our reasonable control. We work hard to keep backups reliable, and we recommend exporting important lists from time to time. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.

9. Changes to these terms

We will post updated terms in the app or on our website at least 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes that are less favorable to you).

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
